Check out this article in Tuesday’s Tribune about Connect SLO County!
Many joggers, bikers and dog walkers had to drive to the lot to get to the start of the scenic trail, which winds from Ontario Road through four miles of the Avila Valley to the seashore.
One organization is hoping to get the county into gear to build more pedestrian-friendly trails. Connect SLO County is an initiative created by the San Luis Obispo County Bicycle Coalition, with the goal to advocate for completion of paths like the Bob Jones Trail.
Everyone, not just bicycle riders, is starting to come out in support of the initiative, showing their strong support for bicycles and bicycle facilities throughout the county. We KNOW bicycles are a great way for people of all ages and abilities to experience the Central Coast, but they don’t feel safe riding in roadways with cars, that’s why Connect SLO County aims to complete our paths… so these people can experience the joy of bicycles on a wonderful path.
This site will be continue to be the #1 source for updates and information for the three main path projects in SLO County, and will be updated regularly.
Starting now, you can win prizes for referring people to donate to Connect SLO County. Simply have them enter your name on the donation form, and that’s it!
